  • Culture is a total way of life of the people.

2. Components of culture.

  • Material Culture
  • Non Material Culture 

 

3. Features of Culture

  • Language
  • Food and dressing
  • Religion
  • Technology/Craft, etc.

4. Characteristics of Culture

  • We learn culture.
  • It tells us how different activities can be carried out.
  • It allows a range of permissible behaviours, etc.
  • Cultural differences in Nigeria.

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES

The teacher,

 

1. Explains culture with culture with concrete examples.

2. Takes students to the museum and places of cultural interest to observe the display of Nigerian culture.

3. Guides students to discuss and identify:

  • components of culture.
  • material and non material culture.
  • characteristics of culture.
  • the uniqueness of Nigerian culture.

4. Organizes cultural activities and displays of cultural artifacts.

 

 STUDENT’S ACTIVITIES

The students,

 

1. Ask and answer questions on culture.

2. Observe and report Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

3. Participate in class discussions.

4. Collect and display materials from the various Nigerian cultures in cultural activities.

1. describe the structure and process of forming road safety club.

2. state the roles of road safety club in the socialization of youths.

1. Structure and Process of Forming Road Safety Club in Schools

2. The Roles of Road Safety Club in Socialization of Youths

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES

1. Presents charts on the structure and process of forming road safety club for class discussion.

2. Invites road safety corp officer to give talks on the roles of FRSC in the socialization of youth.

1. Draw the organogram of road safety club and discuss it.

2. Write down the key points of the talk on the roles of road safety in socialization of the youths.

1. Cultural Similarities in Nigeria

2. Cultural Differences among Nigerians

3. Shared Norms and Values of Nigerian Communities

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES

The teacher,

1. Guides students to identify variety of cultural traits among the different Nigerian cultures in order to identify their similarities.

2. Leads students to identify cultural differences among Nigerians.

3. Sets students on inquiry session to find out from the community areas some of the norms and values shared by Nigerian ethnic groups.

 

 STUDENT’S ACTIVITIES

The students,

 

1. Participate in the identification of the variety of cultures to get the similarities.

2. Identify differences in the cultures of Nigerians.

3. Participate in the inquiry session and reports their findings to the class for further discussion.
